Last updated: 14 August 2026
Welcome to Art Market Research
By accessing or using this website and our services, including downloadable reports, valuation tools, and charts, you agree to the Terms and Conditions below. These terms explain what you can and cannot do with the data, how we protect ourselves legally, and how we expect you to use the site responsibly.
Definitions
Website refers to www.artmarketresearch.com and all associated web pages.
Services include:
- Create an Index Service – an application providing paid access to auction price data and charts, along with an automated valuation tool for artworks based on historical data.
- AMR Trendline – the long-run, conservative trend line shown alongside the record, provided as a general reference read of an artist’s market.
- AMR All Art and AMR All Art Top Traded – a monthly measure of the monetary weight of the global auction market, supplied as a licensed dataset under a separate written agreement rather than through the Website.
- Other tools or outputs made available through the platform.
Data refers to all content, charts, price records, and valuation results made available through the Services.
Output refers to any CSV, PDF, or other downloadable or viewable files generated by the Services.
All Users refers to any individual or business using the Service.
Authorised User refers to any individual or business that has purchased access to downloadable content or subscribed to a paid Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must cease use of the Service immediately.
2. Data Licences and Precedence
Some Data is supplied under a separate written licence rather than through the Website. This includes the AMR All Art Historic Dataset Licence and the AMR All Art Annual Data Licence.
Where you hold a current licence of that kind, its terms govern your use of the Data it covers. If anything in these Terms conflicts with that licence in respect of that Data, the licence prevails. These Terms continue to govern your use of the Website and of any Service not covered by such a licence.
3. License and Permitted Use
Authorised Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services and Output for internal business or personal use only.
You may not:
- Republish, distribute, resell, or publicly display any Data or Output.
- Incorporate Output into any public reports, websites, client deliverables, media, or investment materials.
- Share login credentials or sublicense access to others.
- Modify, reverse engineer, or tamper with the platform, software, or data systems.
- Use scraping, mining, or automated tools to extract data.
All Art licensees. The restrictions above are varied for holders of a current AMR All Art data licence, to the extent that licence allows. Under the standard terms you may cite All Art in your own and third-party publications as percentage change or compound annual growth rate over defined periods, including in cross-asset comparisons. Except where your licence expressly permits it, you may not publish the index values themselves, and you may not reconstruct the series from published figures. Wider use — including incorporating the index into your own published or aggregate indices — may be agreed in writing, and where it is, your licence prevails over this clause. Every published reference must credit Art Market Research Developments Ltd and, online, link to the All Art methodology page.
Digital Products are licensed, not sold. You acquire no ownership rights in any part of the Data or Services.
4. User Obligations
You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws.
You agree to keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
You may not attempt to bypass access controls or exploit security vulnerabilities in the Service.
Any misuse or breach may result in termination of your access without refund.
All Output is considered confidential and may not be published or redistributed.
All users of the Service, including those accessing preview features or unpaid content, are strictly prohibited from capturing, downloading, or sharing charts or data through screenshots, screen recording, or any similar method. Any such misuse constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate revocation of access and further legal action.
5. User-Submitted Data
When you submit information for the valuation tool, you are solely responsible for ensuring that the information is accurate and complete.
We do not verify user submissions. You acknowledge that the reliability of any valuation depends on the data you provide.
We are not responsible for any loss, error, or consequence resulting from reliance on valuations based on user-submitted data.
6. Payments and Refunds
All payments must be made in full at the time of purchase.
Due to the nature of digital products, all sales are final. Refunds will not be issued unless required by law.
Payments may be processed through third-party gateways. We are not liable for any issues that arise through these processors.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” with no warranties, express or implied.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of the Data or Output for any particular purpose.
We are not regulated by any financial services authority. Nothing provided through the Service constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
The AMR Trendline. The AMR Trendline is a smoothed, long-run indicator derived from historical auction results and provided for general guidance and reference only. It is deliberately conservative and summarises the aggregate record; it is not a valuation, appraisal, or price forecast for any individual work, and it does not account for the condition, provenance, attribution, rarity, or specific characteristics of a particular lot. Movements in the Trendline reflect past data and are not a prediction of future prices, nor a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold. Any figure read from the Trendline is indicative only; a defensible valuation requires the expert reading, comparables, and caveats provided through our commissioned valuation service. You rely on the Trendline at your own risk.
AMR All Art.The AMR All Art Index is a general information product. It is not a “benchmark” within the meaning of the UK Benchmarks Regulation or Regulation (EU) 2016/1011, is not administered under those regulations, and must not be used as a benchmark or reference for any financial instrument, financial contract or investment fund. It is not investment advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 1 month preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not responsible for interruptions caused by maintenance, third-party outages, or security threats.
9. Intellectual Property and Trademarks
All content, software, and design elements in the Service are the intellectual property of Art Market Research Developments Ltd.
“Art Market Research”, “AMR”, “AMR Trendline”, “AMR All Art” and related marks are trademarks of Art Market Research Developments Ltd and may not be used without permission.

10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page.

11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
